Trucks

Every year thousands of motorist and big rig drivers are killed and injured by the negligence of truck and trailer drivers and truck companies. Unsafe driving, oversized loads, large blind spots, driver fatigue and other unreliable practices put the public in danger.3% of all registered vehicles on the road in the U.S. are large trucks, trucks weighing over 10,000 pounds; however they account for over 25% of the deaths in multiple vehicle traffic accidents. 98% of those killed or injured in accidents will not be the truck drivers.

A disturbing statistics is as follows:
• Every 16 minutes of every day, another person in the United State will be injured or killed in a truck related accident.

Driver fatigue is an overwhelming cause in many accidents. The National Highway Transportation Safety Association (NHTSA) states that driver fatigue is responsible for 30% to 40% of all large truck crashes. 20% of truck drivers admitted to falling asleep at the wheel at least once in the previous three month period.
